How to Maintain a Sand Filter:

Backwash regularly – Usually every 4 weeks, or more often if your pool gets heavy use or has had algae.

Check the sight glass – When the water runs clear during backwash, your filter is clean.

Rinse after backwashing – Switch to "Rinse" for 30 seconds to flush the pipes before resuming normal filtration.
