Maintenance & Cleaning

Unlike sand filters, cartridge filters can't be backwashed—they’re cleaned by hand. Simply turn off the system, remove the cartridge, rinse with a hose, and reinstall. For deeper cleans, a cartridge cleaner may be used. While maintenance is more frequent (usually monthly), the water savings and compact footprint make them a great fit for many pool owners.

Water Savings Matter

A typical 1 HP pool pump moves around 200 litres per minute. A standard 5-minute sand filter backwash uses around 1,000 litres of water—every month! Cartridge filters eliminate that waste, making them an eco-friendly and cost-effective choice.
